Corvallis Deck Dryrot

Carl Christianson

One of our friends noticed the main beam of a neighbor’s deck in Corvallis was sagging. I came out to take a look at it and by using a probe, found the beam was almost completely rotten. That afternoon, I priced out the cost to replace the beam and e-mailed a contract to the homeowner. After discussing it with her we decided that it would be best to replace it this month, before it failed. We ordered a new pressure treated glulam and outdoor wood posts and started installing them today. It turns out the beam was even worse than it looked from the outside. Please call us if you have a deck that is spongy, sagging or looks like it needs repairs. We will come out and let you know what your options are.
