New Home Construction FAQs

As a local design-build contractor, G. Christianson Construction manages your custom home build from initial architectural concept through final construction. Our integrated design-build approach pairs in-house designers, project management and master craftsmen with an in-house cabinet shop — keeping your design aligned with construction budgets, energy efficiency goals and local Corvallis permitting.

Designing, engineering, site planning and securing permits usually takes roughly a year during the pre-construction phase. Once ground is broken, active construction generally ranges about a year depending on home size, site topography and custom interior finishes.

We integrate high-performance building techniques, including continuous air sealing, advanced insulation assemblies, high-efficiency heat pumps or HRV systems and moisture-resistant exterior building envelopes. Designing specifically for our Willamette Valley climate ensures low energy costs, high indoor air quality and long-term durability against rain.

Every home and remodeling project brings unique considerations. If you didn’t find the answer you were looking for here, explore our full FAQ page or reach out to our team directly to discuss your project’s specific needs.
