Concrete Surfaces

Concrete Options

Concrete is a versatile building material that can be used for foundation, flooring, and exterior surfaces such as porches and driveways. Concrete can take on many different textures that will enhance your design and fit the era of your architecture, due to the way concrete is formed. Check out a few options below that concrete can be used for, and consider whether this material might be a good choice for your project!

Project Details

High Strength Engineered Concrete

One of our new single-family dwellings uses high-strength engineered concrete for its foundation. The structural concrete has increased stability and reduction of deflections, increasing the long-term durability. We have many highly trained concrete experts on our staff, who handle most of our own concrete work.

Polished Concrete

This multi-step process creates a specific appearance for a 'clean' look in any New Build or Remodel. This LEED-approved flooring is durable, easy to clean, and has a high coefficient of friction which makes it non-slippery. Choosing this flooring will also enhance the amount of natural light utilized in the room due to its reflective surface.

Stamped Concrete

We decided on stamped concrete at our office on 4th street in Corvallis, for an upscale look that has depth and interest without taking away from the architectural design of our building. In addition to stamped concrete, we offer a wide variety of finishes for your project, including broom finish, exposed aggregate, pressure washed, acid-washed and sealed, stamped, stained, metal broom finished, sand texture and smooth troweled. The key to great concrete finishes is timing, experience, and hard work, all of which our crew excels at.

Parging

We worked with Deb Kadas, Designer, to create mockup samples of the various possible finishes for her concrete work. This burnished flat trowel finish was her selection to recreate the historic artisan/craftsman texture of the original porch. This look is achieved with parging, a plaster or mortar coating to cover imperfections with ornate and beautiful designs that support the aesthetic of its surroundings. Both steps and wall caps were poured to match the finish of the original porch.

Insulating Concrete Forms

Insulating concrete forms combine one of the highest value insulating materials, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), with one of the strongest structural building materials, steel-reinforced concrete. The result is a wall system of unmatched comfort, energy efficiency, strength, and noise reduction.

Driveways

Driveways are a high traffic area often overlooked during construction. We can fix cracking and sagging occurring in your driveway. With proper support and rebar reinforcement, our concrete driveways are done correctly the first time.

What our Clients are Saying

“Carl was very accessible and easy to work with. Most impressive was his patient attention to details. The subcontractors he hired were all pleasant and good craftsmen. In the end the result exceeded our expectations. We have a beautiful updated kitchen.”

Carroll & Gerry DeKock, Corvallis

“Carl came up with a few different designs to shade the front windows from sun during the summer. The designs were done with software that could show the amount of shading and view from different angles, including from inside the house, at different times of the year. This was very helpful in visualizing the designs and making decisions.”

Brian Lee, Corvallis

“We felt our ideas were listened to, incorporated, and enhanced in the final plans. Elizabeth did a nice job adding architectural interest with the arch above the stove and continuing that feature in the new opening connecting the living room to dining space. Eliminating the wall between dining room & kitchen allowed for a much better flow addressing our desire for a more spacious-looking interior without adding additional space. The hot tub cover is a special feature that enhances our ability to use it daily. And creating a space for the washer/dryer in the house instead of the garage was a real win. ”
